Dalhousie Students for Ethical Fashion Presents: The Fashion Revival
On Wednesday, March 11th, Dalhousie Students for Ethical Fashion invites you to something we have been dreaming about for years—our first-ever fashion show.
THE FASHION REVIVAL is more than a runway. It is a statement, a conversation and a celebration of what fashion can look like when sustainability is chosen over speed.
Location: McInnes Room, Dalhousie Student Union Building
Date: Wednesday, March 11th
Doors Open: 7:00 PM
Show Begins: 8:00 PM
Conclusion: Approximately 9:30 PM
Guests are encouraged to arrive at 7:00 PM to shop from featured local vendors before the show begins.
Tickets are now available via the link in DSEF's Instagram bio.
Why “Revival”?
The Fashion Revival is organized by DSEF for Dal and King’s students, as well as for members of the broader Halifax community. The evening is designed to expose the realities of the fashion industry, particularly the environmental and human impacts of fast fashion.
From raw material extraction to garment production, trend cycles and eventual disposal, the show walks audiences through the lifecycle of clothing. Each scene reflects a stage in that journey, encouraging us to rethink the way we consume and discard what we wear.
But this is not just a critique.
At its core, Revival celebrates a better path forward. The show features local vintage and ethical vendors whose work embodies sustainability, creativity, and care for the community. By spotlighting these designers and shops, we hope to demonstrate that style and ethics are not opposites; they’re partners.
A Show Built by Students, for Community
Planned for months and envisioned for years, this event marks a major milestone for DSEF. Created and organized by an incredible team including Arden Goodfellow, Cassidy Watters, Gemma Simpson and members of the Dalhousie Fashion Society, the show brings together student models, local businesses and sustainability advocates in one shared space.
As one of the models walking in the show, I have had the privilege of seeing the rehearsal process up close. The intention behind every scene is thoughtful and deliberate. This is not simply about outfits on a runway; it’s about storytelling, education and building momentum for change on campus.
What to Expect
● A structured runway experience exploring the lifecycle of clothing
● Opportunities to shop consciously from local Halifax vendors
● A community-driven atmosphere that sparks conversation
● A celebration of ethical fashion and creative expression
Whether you are passionate about sustainability, love local fashion or have curiosity, this evening is designed to leave you thinking differently about what hangs in your closet.
Fashion does not have to be disposable.
It can be intentional, it can be ethical and it can be revived.
